JAPAN AIRLINES: NUEVO AÑO JAPONES


JAL Group (JAL) forecasted a total of 432,024 passengers travelling on
its international flights during the Japanese New Year vacation period from
December 19, 2014 to January 4, 2015 based on current reservation figures. The
total number of people travelling to and from Japan is expected to increase
10.2% compared to the same period last year, and the number of available seats
is 6.6% up than previous year.
The fully revamped JAL SKY SUITE aircraft have been expanding onto Southeast
Asia routes this year, achieving around 89.1% on their passenger bookings, which
contributes the overall international booking factor to 84.2%, increased by 2.8
percentage points compared to the same vacation period last year.
On the domestic routes, passenger bookings now is 1,344,662, 1.5% down on last
year, while the domestic seat capacity remains at the same level as previous
year. The overall booking factor for domestic JAL Group flights at present is
59.0% that is 0.9 percentage points decrease compared to last year.
During 2015 New Year vacation period, JAL will operate 22 chartered flights to
Fairbanks, Honolulu, Guam, Saipan and Palau as well as 5 extra flights to
Honolulu. Meanwhile, the airline plans to also operate 6 extra flights between
Tokyo (Haneda) and Sapporo, 12 extra flights between Tokyo (Haneda) and Okinawa,
4 extra flights between Tokyo (Haneda) and Fukuoka and 2 extra flights between
Tokyo (Haneda) and Miyazaki.
